Scholarly and Professional Achievements
My narrow area of expertise is in New Testament literary criticism, especially as applied to the Gospel of Mark. My research on the literary genre of the Gospel of Mark is published in my dissertation, "The Problem of Markan Genre." I have also published articles on "The Trial Scene Chronotope in Mark and the Jewish Novel" and on "The Apocalyptic Chrontope."
Institutional Service and Responsibilities
I am currently the Dean of Arts and Humanities, as well as the Director of General Education. I co-chair the Assessment Team and I am actively involved in the work of the Writing Across the Curriculum program as well as the Honors program.
Personal Interests
I am a skilled carpenter and woodworker who enjoys spending time in my workshop. I also am an avid road cyclist and an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking and backpacking.
