Scholarly and Professional Achievements

I am a professional archaeologist studying the early cultures of the Southeastern US. My dissertation research centers on understanding the intricacies of interregional interaction during the Middle Woodland period (ca. 33 BC–AD 200) through the design, construction, and layout of monumental architecture. I also study archaeoastronomy—how cultures of the past understood and implemented knowledge of the sky—and sensory archaeology.

I have won awards through and served on committees for the Southeastern Archaeological Conference and the Society for American Archaeology.
