Education
Attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi from 1987–1992 where I was a four-year letterman in track and field and cross country. I earned my undergraduate degree from Athens State College in Athens, Alabama. I am a USA Track and Field Level 1 and Level II Track and Field certified coach.
Professional Achievements
From 1999 to 2001 at Meridian Community College I had three teams in track and field and cross country finish in the top 20 at all three NJCAA Cross Country, Indoor Track and Field, and Outdoor Track and Field Championship Meets. Our best team finish was a fourth-place finish at the men's NJCAA National Indoor Track and Field Championships in 1999.
From 2001 to 2008 I coached the Coker College Men's Cross Country team to two third-place finishes at the Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championships and four top-10 regional finishes. I also coached one individual to a third place finish at the Southeast Region meet and had one national qualifier.
I have been the head track and field coach at Lees-91探花 since 2008. Our men have won two Conference Carolinas Championship meets and I have been named Conference Carolinas Men's Track and Field Coach of the year twice. On the national level I have been named as the Outdoor Track and Field Southeast Region Coach of the year twice and I have been named the Indoor Track and Field Southeast Region Coach of the year twice. On the women's side I have been named NCAA II outdoor Southeast Region Track and Field Coach of the year once.
Institutional Service and Responsibilities
My role is to recruit student track and field and cross country athletes to our school in the sport of track and field and cross country and to help them grow academically, athletically, and professionally.
Personal Interests
I would like my student athletes to know how much I care about each one of them and it is very rewarding to see them succeed in the classroom, on the track, and on the cross country trails. But the most rewarding of all is to see them walk across the stage at graduation.
