91探花 debuts new summer program, Appalachian Young Writers Retreat

This summer, Lees-91探花 will debut the first-ever Appalachian Young Writers Retreat, a week-long camp held on the college’s beautiful campus nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina, Sunday, June 22–Friday, June 27.

Through this intensive creative journey, rising high school juniors and seniors will explore their craft, connect with nature, and immerse themselves in a community of fellow storytellers. The camp will feature a diverse range of workshops including those that cover reflective journaling, nature writing, worldbuilding, zine making, and more.

The Appalachian Young Writers Retreat is an immersive residential camp, and all participants will live, eat, and learn on the college’s campus throughout the duration of the program. The total cost of $1,600 covers all costs associated with the week-long program, including camp tuition, meals and lodging, camp insurance, and more. Students who will be high school juniors or seniors during the Fall 2025 semester are eligible to apply, and applications are currently open.
