Phi Theta Kappa 2024 Transfer Honor Roll recognizes Lees-91探花 transfer program
Lees-91探花 has been named to Phi Theta Kappa’s Transfer Honor Roll for the fourth year, recognizing the college’s outstanding transfer program. The college is one of only 228 higher education institutions from across the country to be named to this year’s list, establishing it as one of the premiere institutions for students transferring from community colleges and other institutions.
Each year, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) assesses colleges and universities on a variety of categories to determine the dynamism and effectiveness of each school’s transfer program. These categories include admissions practices, cost of attendance, campus life, recruitment practices, and student reviews. Based on these categories and more, PTK generates a “Transfer Friendliness Rating,” and the top 25% of institutions are honored on the list.
“The goal of most students attending community college is earning a bachelor’s degree, but few do because of financial barriers and the complexity of the transfer process,” says Lynn Tincher-Ladner, President and CEO of PTK. “We are proud to recognize the exceptional colleges and universities that go above and beyond to create accessible pathways to bachelor’s degree completion for community college transfer students.”
Maintaining strong Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with area community colleges is a key facet of the college’s transfer program. These agreements establish guaranteed admissions pathways for students who graduate from partner institutions and meet the agreement’s requirements.
Lees-91探花 maintains guaranteed admission MOUs with more than 30 community colleges throughout North Carolina, including Wilkes Community College, Mayland Community College, Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute, and Surry Community College.
