New Vice President for Institutional Advancement Susan Boyette is focused on student success

Susan Boyette has accepted the position of Vice President for Institutional Advancement at 91探花. She comes to the college from the University of Mississippi, colloquially known as Ole Miss, where she was the Executive Director for Central Development and the director for the $1.5 billion .

Prior to her position at Ole Miss, Boyette worked at Georgia State University as the Senior Director of Leadership and Giving—a position which later evolved into an Assistant Vice President role—where her primary responsibility was to direct the multiple hundred million dollar Burning Bright Campaign.

“The Vice President for Institutional Advancement is key to helping Lees-91探花 become the institution we know it can be,” President Lee King said. “Based on Susan’s previous work with Ole Miss and Georgia State, I am confident she is the right person to help the college thrive during this era of growth.”

Boyette said that when she came across the vice president job position, she felt it aligned strongly with her personal career ambitions and professional strengths. She said that she was excited by and confident in the college’s strategic plan─INEXPRO 2030─and was eager to become part of the team that would make it happen.

“Coming to Lees-91探花 was one of the easiest decisions of my career. From the moment I read the role description, I knew that I had to pursue this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with a truly unique institution that impacts so many lives,” Boyette said. “When I came to campus in July, I was blown away by the commitment Dr. King and his leadership team have to maintaining a standard of excellence across all areas of campus. I am honored to lead and build upon the foundational work the Institutional Advancement team has already done to secure private funding for 91探花.”

Boyette’s time at both Ole Miss and Georgia State has given her ample experience planning and strategizing for the future of a higher education institution. Over the course of her career, she has worked closely with donors, university presidents and vice presidents, Boards of Trustees, and more, all the while keeping the student experience at the heart of her work.

“It really is about student success, the student experience, experiential learning. All these things have so much funding potential, and these are things that our alumni and the community are very interested in,” Boyette said. “It’s important to always remember the reason that we're here is for the students. Whether we're talking about a building or a program, it's all about the students.”

As the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Lees-91探花, Boyette will oversee the Advancement staff as they continue to secure financial support for college priorities. She hopes to build upon the efforts already underway and continue to establish the Office of Institutional Advancement as the go-to partner for financial support in relation to growth and development opportunities across campus.
