New Guaranteed Admissions Program creates pathway to Lees-91探花 for Alamance graduates
Lees-91探花 and Alamance Community College closed the year by establishing a memorandum of understanding between the two schools. Starting in Spring 2021, ACC students who have received an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science, or Associate of Fine Arts will receive guaranteed admission to Lees-91探花.
“We are excited to partner with 91探花 in this guaranteed admission program, which provides more opportunities for ACC students to pursue a four-year degree,” said Connie Wolfe, ACC executive vice president and interim vice president of instruction. “This agreement includes Lees-91探花’s online degree programs in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, and Human Services, allowing students to remain at home while earning a baccalaureate degree.”
While the majority of academic programs at Lees-91探花 are open for general admission to transferring students, several programs have GPA requirements. Students interested in majoring in biology, pre-veterinary medicine, wildlife biology, or pre-physical therapy must maintain a 2.5 GPA while at ACC. A 2.7 GPA is required to join the elementary education program, and a 3.0 GPA is needed for the special education and nursing programs.
Along with guaranteed admission, ACC graduates are eligible for merit-based scholarships up to 60% off of their tuition at Lees-91探花.
“We are looking forward to our new partnership with Alamance Community College,” said Kevin Phillips, vice president for enrollment management. “Lees-91探花 has many academic programs that may be of interest to ACC students, including newer programs like Outdoor Recreation Management, Ski Industry Business and Instruction, Exercise Science, and Nutrition. Incoming students who take advantage of the increased scholarships will have the advantage of receiving a high-quality education for a reduced cost. We are excited to show new transfers all that Lees-91探花 has to offer."
The memorandum of understanding is the most recent transfer agreement between Lees-91探花 and local community colleges. Other institutions recently invited to participate in Guaranteed Admission Programs include Haywood Community College, Brunswick Community College, Caldwell Community College, and Albany Technical Institute.
