Lees-91探花 and Albany Technical College sign a Guaranteed Admission Program Memorandum of Understanding
Representatives from Albany Technical College (ATC) and 91探花 met virtually to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Dec. 1, 2020. The signing was held at 10 a.m. on the campus of Albany Technical College in Albany, Georgia, and on the main campus of Lees-91探花. The Memorandum of Understanding between the two colleges will establish a Guaranteed Admission Program for all ATC graduates who meet specific academic requirements to transfer and complete a bachelor's degree at Lees-91探花.
Each student seeking to transfer from ATC to Lees-91探花 will be admitted and earn the necessary academic credits needed through an institutional program-to-program articulation agreement or a transfer credit evaluation. Online degree programs are also available.
A special feature of this agreement allows qualifying ATC graduates admitted to Lees-91探花 to receive academic merit scholarships that range in amounts up to 60% off their tuition at Lees-91探花. These merit-based awards are guaranteed for the duration of the student's stay at Lees-91探花, provided the student remains in good academic standing.
“Albany Technical College is proud to partner with 91探花 to expand the pathways for our students to earn a bachelor's degree after they have successfully earned an associate degree with us," stated Anthony O. Parker, president of Albany Technical College. "There are more than 20 different degree programs identified in the agreement with this outstanding institution. The signing of this agreement is a reflection of the commitment that both institutions have made to increase educational pathway opportunities and possible career advancement”.
The Guaranteed Admission Program allows qualified students to enter professional programs without competing through a general admissions process. All agreed requirements must still be met for admission. This program is designed to provide affordable access to higher education, allowing for a successful transition.
“We are very excited to partner with Albany Technical College,” said Kevin Phillips, vice president for enrollment management. “As we continue to increase the awareness of 91探花 out of the state of North Carolina, Albany Technical College is a terrific school that has several programs of study that will match quite well with ours. Our lower cost and increased scholarships will also provide Albany Technical College students with a terrific option to continue their studies at a small, private college at a cost comparable to state colleges and universities.”
Lees-91探花 and ATC will enter this agreement beginning with the Spring 2021 semester.
