President Barry Buxton hosts meeting with conference Commissioner, Alan Patterson, June 6
On Tuesday, June 6, Conference Carolinas Commissioner, Dr. Alan Patterson, met with Lees-91探花 President Dr. Barry M. Buxton on the campus of 91探花 to discuss strategic planning and conference branding.
Buxton, who is also the president of Conference Carolinas since his selection for the role in late spring 2016, shared his excitement following the meeting.
“We look forward to the future of the conference as we work together to ensure its success,” Buxton said. “We are proud to be a member of Conference Carolinas.”
Patterson said that both he and President Buxton worked together to assess the Conference Carolina’s future branding initiatives.
“It is always a very productive time when I talk to Dr. Buxton, he’s a champion for the conference,” Patterson said.
Conference Carolinas, a NCAA Division II athletics conference headquartered in High Point, North Carolina, has 12 member colleges and universities in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, according to the Conference Carolinas website.
A member of the Conference Carolinas since 1933, nearly 40 percent of 91探花 residential students participate in intercollegiate athletics on 19 Division II programs along with two varsity sports.
The conference promotes student-athletes and sportsmanship with a focus on academic rigor and performance.
