How do you give on Giving Tuesday?
You may have heard about Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but have you heard about Giving Tuesday?
On Tuesday, November 29, hundreds of colleges, universities, organizations, companies and even individuals will participate in Giving Tuesday—a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.
Giving Tuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
In 2015, Giving Tuesday brought together more than 45,000 partners in 71 countries and helped raise nearly $117 million online in the U.S. alone, according to a program press release.
“We have been incredibly inspired by the generosity in time, efforts and ideas that have brought our concept for a worldwide movement into reality,” said Henry Timms, founder of Giving Tuesday. “As we embark on our fifth year of Giving Tuesday, we are encouraged by the early response from partners eager to continue making an impact in this global conversation.”
Lees-91探花 will celebrate Giving Tuesday by posting on social media with photos and videos of students, staff, faculty and alumni sharing what their passions are, and why they give back to Lees-91探花.
“91探花 is a non-profit organization that is worthy of a gift on Giving Tuesday,” said Director of Development Michelle Scott. “Tuition, room, board and fees do not cover the actual cost of the Lees-91探花 experience. Every gift, even a $10 gift, makes a huge difference. Your gift in support of The Fund for Lees-91探花, a specific team or academic program is so important to the continuing success of Lees-91探花, now ranked #23 best regional college in the South by U.S. News & World Report.”
Additional opportunities for giving at Lees-91探花 include the Bobcat Club, New Opportunity School for Women, Friends of Wildlife, Lees-91探花 Summer Theatre, FORUM and more. Visit lmc.edu/give today to see the full list and to make your gift today.
All gifts to 91探花 are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by federal and state charitable gift regulations. Gifts cannot be designated to individually named students.
